I once heard a funny story about the professional golfer named Arnold Palmer. He was invited by the prince to a 5 day expedition in Saudi Arabia to teach and play golf there. Arnold hesitated at first but because it wasn't golf season eventually agreed and went. Arnold spent 5 days playing golf with the Prince and really enjoyed his time. Living at the palace in luxury he enjoyed the royal treatment that was given to him. On his last day staying there the Prince told Arnold he would love to send him a gift. Arnold reluctantly said he was quite ok and tried to prevent the Prince from giving him anything saying his visit was more than enough. However he eventually agreed as the Prince insisted. The Prince told him to choose anything saying that Arnold would receive it when he returned home. Arnold asked the Prince to give him a small gift, preferably a solid gold putter or another such golf club. When Arnold arrived home he continually checked his e-mail for 6 weeks not receiving anything from the Prince. During the 7th week the gift arrived. To Arnold's surprise it came as a legal document! A deed to a 465 acre golf course in the beautiful countryside of western Pennsylvania. He received the golf club as well. But his golf course has become one of the finest in Pennsylvania. The moral of the story is never ask a Royal Prince for a small gift, you still might receive more than expected!

I write about this to then look at our relationship with God. Before we come to Christ we are filthy and unclean living in the pit with rags as garments. When we reach a hand out to Christ asking for salvation we receive so much more. He pulls us out of the pit, strips off our filthy rags, cleans our hearts and lives then clothes us in Royalty! Royal robes He wraps us in and gives us His Palace to live in. We become a Royal People because of Christ! We exchange our Rags for His Royal Robes and our dark muddy Pit for His Palace.

1 Peter 2:9 But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God's special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. 10 Once you were not a people, but now you are the people of God; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.

As if that is not enough Jesus has given us the right to become Heirs. Heirs are people who are entitled to another's property or position after they have died, so we are Heirs of Christ! We are entitled to have what He had and to share in the riches of His glory!

Romans 8:17 Now if we are children, then we are heirs—heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory.

Jesus says that we can ask Him for anything and He will give it. If Arnold Palmer asked for a Golf Club and got the club and the 465 Acre Course from the Prince then imagine what Jesus will give to those who ask. He is the Risen King! He left behind His kingdom that is more powerful than this world to bring us eternity. That is everlasting and unshakable.

Hebrews 12:28 Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe.

That unshakable kingdom doesn't just belong to Jesus but is now ours. We are a Royal People! We were in darkness and many of us still are. If that is the case then reach out to King Jesus. Let Him clean up your life and clothe you in Royalty making you His own! Abandon your filthy rags, the guilt the shame, the feeling of defeat, fear, and emptiness. Why stay in this dark, corrupt, and evil world? The Kingdom of God is not far from you. Let Jesus transform your life. Let Him give you a new life, new desires, and a new society! Let go of the idols you chase. Whether it be Drugs, Pimping, Gambling, Porn, or Crime. If you continue to chase these things you will chase them all the way to Hell!

Lets not trade our Robes back for filthy rags or his Palace back to the dark pit He rescued us from! As we continue to live in His Kingdom, enjoy His riches, and overcome the trials or temptations we face remember we share the same throne as Jesus. That is incredible! We receive a Crown upon our heads. James 1:12 Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him. We also get to sit on the Royal Throne with Jesus! Revelation 3:21 To the one who is victorious, I will give the right to sit with me on my throne, just as I was victorious and sat down with my Father on his throne.

Lets understand our value and our position in Christ. A Royal Priesthood we are as well as Heirs of Christ and His Throne!

Your Majesty i can but bow

I lay my all, before you now

In Royal Robes I don't deserve

I live to serve your majesty!
